Four & five year old girls only are eligible and must have reached their fourth birthday by 7/1/13 and can not have reached their sixth birthday by 7/1/13.
Must be a resident of Edgar County.
A drawing will be held to select the twenty contestants. Only the entry form from the paper (or Xeroxed copies) will be accepted, no other forms of entries will be accepted.
No child who has been a contestant for Little Miss Edgar County Fair previously is eligible.
A rehearsal will be held on Friday, July 19, at 6:00 p.m. At this time the girls will be asked a couple of questions, practice lining up, and walking and waving on stage. Please have your daughter in play clothes and rested. This is required to participate in the Little Miss Edgar County Fair Queen Pageant.
For the pageant each contestant will be asked to walk a short distance on the stage when her name is called, wave to the audience and return to her seat (rehearsed on Friday).
Dress for the pageant should be in a nice dress, short or long. Each contestant will have a number pinned on their waste and a wrist corsage (will be provided the evening of the pageant). DO NOT put gloves on your daughter.
On pageant night, you must have your daughter at the Fairgrounds (speed office, north entrance) by 5:30 p.m. Please be on time, as this is when the group photo will be taken. Have your child completely ready, no parents are allowed to stay with the girls once they are dropped off at 6:00. If for any reason your daughter is unable to be left alone with the Pageant Committee she will not be allowed to participate in the pageant and forfeit any further eligibility.
Phil Tretter will take photos the evening of the pageant and additional copies may be ordered at a cost set by the photographer. Videos of the pageant are also available.
After the 2013 Little Miss is crowned, the girls will be returned to a parent in the grandstands. The members of the pageant committee will bring the girls across the track to meet a parent at the south end of the grandstands. Please send only one parent to pick up the child as the area gets congested. The 2012 Little Miss parents are to come to the stage area once the 2013 Little Miss is announced. Absolutely no parents will be allowed on the track or backstage during the pageant.
The 2013 Little Miss Edgar County Fair’s responsibilities will be during the week of the 2013 Edgar County Fair and events in Edgar County only. The Pageant Director must approve any participation outside of Edgar County.
A reception will follow the pageant for the 2013 Queens. At that time the events for the week of the fair will be discussed and a schedule presented.
By entering your daughter in the drawing you agree to the rules as stated.
